From a Home-Based Idea to a Growing Sydney Academy
Recently, our journey was acknowledged in The Daily Telegraph’s article on “Hills District small businesses: Lawpath data reveals surge in start-ups” - highlighting the success story of Mansi, who has proven to be an example of how a mid-career professional can successfully turn her experience to set up her own business venture.
A vision that came into being eighteen months ago, bested by Mansi’s creative mind, has now become a supportive cocoon of an environment where children can learn to speak their mind with confidence, communicate easily and become more self-assured.
And since that day forward, the growth of our small home-based business has boomed to an upward slope of success.
Currently, SAPS is established across five locations across the Hills and Western Sydney, including Quakers Hill, Westmead, Marsden Park and Bella Vista, backed by the most supportive group of staff and teachers as well as a community of more than 250+ families served.

Creating a business generally begins with determining a need and having the confidence to address it. For the founder and director of SAPS, Mansi Patel, that need was obvious; children need more chances to learn skills such as confidence, communication and self-expression.
With over a decade of experience in media and radio broadcasting, Mansi already had a good understanding of communication. However, after identifying a lack of support for children to study this important skill, she resolved to step up and use her experience to create something valuable.
That decision marked the beginning of SAPS.
Why Confidence and Communication Matter
It can be observed that for Mansi, SAPS is a lot more than simply teaching children how to stand in front of an audience.
While public speaking surely can help children become more comfortable with sharing their thoughts, delivering presentations, willingly participating in discussions and communicating with their peers, these skills can also unlock a larger aspect of their life with a boost of skills such as leadership, creative thinking, teamwork and confidence.
At SAPS, children learn through practical and engaging activities including public speaking, storytelling, group discussions, debating, creative thinking and personality development.
The goal is to make communication a friend and not just an acquaintance in the children’s lives; it can bloom into something that they can practise, enjoy and gradually become confident with rather than something that they would always feel anxious about.
Creating Confident Voices Across Sydney
As SAPS expands, it is clear that parents recognise that communication and confidence-building skills are essential for children to learn, as it is evident that the notion of learning in classes from home to servicing multiple successful locations across Sydney cannot be achieved without professional experience coupled with community needs.
With each new class, student and place of learning, SAPS can provide more children with the ability to learn to speak and gather skills that will help them in school, society and at work later.
For SAPS, as well as Mansi, this journey is only a beginning towards something great. With the onset of a growing community of families and an expanding presence across Sydney, their focus remains the same: to guide children in becoming efficient communicators, courageous leaders and outspoken in a way that makes an impact.
